Marandela Mbengeni Mudau, a resilient 97-year-old from Ha Pietbooi village, was moved to tears by a surprise gift from the Magoma Foundation. Struggling with arthritis, she found herself unable to walk until the foundation stepped in on Thursday, May 9th.
Founded in 2020, Magoma Foundation has been a lifeline for countless individuals in the Vhembe region and beyond. Tshifhiwa Magoma, the visionary behind the organization, expressed a passionate commitment to aiding those unable to help themselves, particularly focusing on the disabled and children.
With a heartwarming track record, Magoma Foundation has distributed over 19 wheelchairs, starting from the one they distributed in Jane Furse to the recent one to Mrs Marandela. “We have also provided clothing to the orphanage in Thohoyandou Block F and assisted a needy woman to finish her one room house in Miluwani.” said Magoma. “Our organization is dedicated to sponsor community events, as we sponsored a soccer tournament in Ngwenani ya Ha Themeli in 2022 where we gave soccer boots and soccer kits. So far we have distributed lots of sanitary pads to several primary and secondary schools around Vhembe,” he added.
Despite their noble mission, Magoma Foundation faces financial hurdles, relying solely on donations to sustain their impactful work. Tshifhiwa Magoma, the founder, pleaded to all the individuals and businesses to help the foundation with old or new clothings, food parcels, sanitary towels and other things.
