Malamulele – In a powerful tribute to the late Chris Hani, the South African Communist Party (SACP) in Limpopo province gathered in full force at Ha Pietbooi village outside Malamulele. The Mulenzhe community hall overflowed with attendees, marking a heartfelt memorial on Sunday, April 14, under the Collins Chabane Municipality.
Thixedzwi Maphiswana, a Member of the SACP Provincial Executive Committee, delivered a stirring memorial lecture, leaving no stone unturned in emphasizing the importance of unity. “This ward must return to the ANC in 2026. We have learned that people truly love the ruling party,” asserted Maphiswana, undeterred by opposition posters adorning the venue. Addressing the presence of these posters, Maphiswana highlighted concerns about the funding of opposition parties, attributing it to the efforts of imperialists to unsettle the ANC.
Condry Chabalala, Secretary of the Young Communist League, echoed the sentiment, stressing the urgent need to prioritize job creation, especially for South Africa’s youth. “We are unapologetic about this issue. Our young people need jobs. We must create opportunities for them,” emphasized Chabalala, underlining the critical importance of economic empowerment.
Dr. Rudzani Makhado, Chairperson of the George Phadagi branch, lauded the unwavering support demonstrated by ANC and SACP members for each other. Their dedication, he emphasized, forms the cornerstone of progress and solidarity within the community.
As the echoes of Chris Hani’s legacy reverberate, the call for unity, progress, and economic empowerment resounds stronger than ever within the heart of Limpopo province.
