In a world where beauty standards and aesthetics are highly valued, the beauty pageant industry has become a booming sector. Pageantry can be a great career option in today’s increasingly competitive work environment. You could not only make money but also become well known. A small number of pageantry industry women have made a name for themselves and are now recognized as icons for upcoming female professionals and entrepreneurs. One of these role models is Myla V. “I was born in the Philippines and lived in Bulacan, north of the country’s capital. Me and my Japanese spouse presently live in Japan, where we jointly raise our three children. I’m the Director of Cultural Outreach at the International Foundation of Women and CEO and Founder of Mrs Tourism Ambassador International Japan. The tagline of Mrs Tourism Ambassador International is “beauty with a mission, dream with action,” which is also our rallying cry to become outstanding women who assist society not only in Japan but also around the globe,” Myla said in introduction.
Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International’s goal is to support and mentor young ladies who wish to go into the beauty pageant industry. It’s also a tremendous venue for bringing together strong, inspirational women from every prefecture so they can showcase their skills and abilities.
Myla’s story of transformation is really inspiring and sets her apart from others in her industry. Success is One Step Away from Giving Up. Myla is a great example of this.
“To be perfectly honest, I have thought about giving up pageantry before achieving my present title. But I also felt within my heart that there is something more I can give. I believe there is still more I can do. So, I convinced myself to give it one more go, just one more try, and the rest was history. Since then, I believe that never giving up is the most reliable way to succeed,” explained Myla.
Myla’s accomplishments are just too many to list here. She just obtained her Doctorate in Humanities from Brimstone Academy Philippines. She has received recognition from a number of award giving bodies. In addition to being awarded Most Outstanding International Licensed Kimono Teacher of the Year in 2016, she was also named a “Global Pinoy” by the Gawad Amerika Awards in 2017. She served as the inaugural chapter president of Japan Women of Global Change in 2022.
As Mrs. Tourism Ambassador International Japan’s CEO and organizer, Myla has coached several successful beauty queens. The next generation of beauty queens may benefit from highly skilled mentors like Myla who can push them outside of their comfort zone, foster confidence development, and offer new ideas and concepts. Here are some of her best career success strategies to help mentor the upcoming generation of beauty pageant industry professionals and entrepreneurs:
You have to work hard to achieve the desired outcomes since you can’t be flawless on the first attempt. Don’t give up easily and don’t be frightened of failing. Excellent things take time.
You are not required to imitate others. When you walk the runway, find your groove and your own woman.
Everyone knows that pageant gowns and dresses have the power to make or break a candidate in beauty pageants. Get to know yourself well and see what your body responds to. Try different dresses because not everything suits everyone. Once you believe you’ve located the dress, put it on and take a stroll while wearing it. In that attire, do you think you’ll win the crown? If so, you ought to be wearing that outfit.
